March 26, 2013 - Update for my Foodies!

Hey everyone. We are swiftly approaching the month's end and there has been very little activity on the blog. My apologies for the lack of posts. Just wanted to assure you that I haven't died or given up on the blog. It's tax season in Canada and I've been really busy at work. I'm hoping things will die down soon so I'll have more time and energy to keep the blog afloat.

I do have some exciting news, my best friend and I have been planning a belated birthday trip for myself to Trinidad & Tobago for several months and we finally booked our flight and hotel. I'll be there for a week in mid-May so I promise to share lots of photos and food experiences from my trip. There will be doubles, curries, roti, fresh fish, bake and shark, goat, yams, plantains and all kinds of other tropical treats. Trinidad & Tobago are the most southern islands in the Caribbean (Trinidad is just off the coast of Venezuela) and it is extraordinarily multicultural so the food is fantastic. I can't wait!

So again, I know the blog has been boring and uneventful lately. I've been eating a lot of quick snacks on the go and take out (or take away as they may say in your country). Although it is officially spring (yes!), there is still one comforting winter dish I've been meaning to make and will get around to in the posts to come shortly. More and more ingredients are about to come into season and trips to the market are about to get very exciting. So please know that even though the blog has been lacking in action lately, there are many great things on their way. Big tings a gwan!! Can you tell I'm excited about my Caribbean trip?

In the meantime, I hope you are all eating and cooking well. I would love to hear about your favourite things to eat and/or cook. I'm always a click away.

Love.
