I'm Featured In The Newspaper Today!

I have some exciting news! One of my dishes was featured in the National Post today. For those who may not be familiar, the National Post is a reputable English-language Canadian newspaper that is published in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. I participate in a group called Gastropost for the Toronto paper. The Gastropost editors choose a different ingredient theme for each week. During that week, participating foodies in the Toronto area go on mission to post photos that feature the special ingredient on Instagram. Those photos are then entered into a contest to be featured in the following Saturday's paper.

Last week the mission was mushrooms. I entered photos of a few dishes I've had with mushrooms, including a gnocchi dish I made a couple of months ago (check out the post for it here). It made the cut and was selected! This is the first time I've made it to the newspaper. My Vietnamese salad rolls were featured on the Gastropost web page a couple of weeks ago. I have been very lucky because I've only been participating in this group for about a month and to already be featured twice is a real honour. There are hundreds of other people in the city who take part in this.

A foodie friend of mine was also featured on the same page today. How cool is that?

Anyway, I had to share this bit of good news. Check out Gastropost's web page to see how you can participate too if you live in the area.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. This certainly contributed to the greatness of mine!

Much love & respect,

B
